It snowed!!!!

We never get snow ever so this was exciting. The last time I'd seen snow was years ago. So obviously I went and took a whole bunch of pictures and videos.

I got some pictures of individual snowflakes when it first started to snow and I think they're really cool. They're actually shaped like little stars! Usually when we get snow it's half-melted and basically cold rain, or like, ice pellets, but these were, like, real actual snowflakes. They almost look fake to me.

I did think that'd be all the snow we got at first, but it kept snowing until about 11:00 or so at night. We got about an inch or two of snow, maybe. I'm bad at guessing how much things are but that seems about right.

I took more pictures than videos, but I don't want to post all of them here because they have my house in them and stuff. I'll leave this one here though.

Also, fun thing of note; since I post my own home videos on YouTube, the site likes to reccomend me other people's old home videos. A lot of them are 10-20 years old and in different languages, and I think it's neat to see a bunch of these short clips of memories that some guy on the other side of the world wanted to document over a decade ago.

It was still snowing while I took that video, actually. I went and ran around and played in the snow for like half an hour before I went back inside. I tried to take a video on my phone too but I dropped it in the snow because I had gloves on so I gave up on that.

The next day the snow was still there (I was scared it would have melted) and I went out again. It was easier to get more pictures in the daytime, but it was so bright out that I actually didn't really like being out there as much during the day. I had to wear sunglasses which sucks because I also already have to wear normal glasses. I wish I had stayed out there longer the night before, that was more fun.

I still had fun though. I threw snowballs at nothing and made snow angels. I also built a little snowman. Normally my cat is inside only, but I tried to let her go out in the snow just so she could see what it's like. Unsurprisingly she absolutely hated it and wanted nothing to do with it.

When I went back inside all of my clothes were soaking wet and freezing from rolling around in the snow, so I didn't go back out and do that again. I also drank at like three cups of hot chocolate over the course of the snow endeavor, which is a lot more hot chocolate than I usually drink (none).

Most of the snow melted pretty fast, the snowman was gone within a few hours after I built it. When night came around again and I could go out without being blinded by the sun reflecting off of the snow, there wasn't really enough left to play in anymore :(

Surprisingly, even several days afterwards, there's still a little bit of snow remaining in places that don't get a lot of sun. It'll probably be gone by the end of the day though as it's pretty warm out for winter right now.

It'll probably be a couple of years before I get to see snow again, which sucks, but I guess it makes it more fun when it does come around. I remember as a kid we got huge snowstorms a couple of times, and they're very memorable for me even though I wasn't any older than 6 or 7 at any of those times. We don't really get snow like that here anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if we never did again.

That's all for now. I'll leave you with this Tillie picture. Even if the snow has to leave it's exciting that it's almost Februrary, which means we're closer to spring, and also to Valentine's Day, which is constantly competing with Halloween for the spot as my favorite holiday. I might decorate my site for Valentine's Day kind of like I did for Christmas... I certainly like the aesthetic of it more.
